Resumo: To monitoring progress national education in Mato Grosso had to be reformulated. That's because the isolated schools, prevailing in the state, had no quality education. School groups, urban institutions, created in the mold of the Graduate School, although ideas institutions for primary education, in the conception of the government of Mato Grosso, presenting besides pedagogical quality, school achievement positive, not observed in isolated schools. Yet, the costs for the establishment of school groups were onerous to the state coffers, since it demands large and majestic buildings, as well as a larger number of employees. The solution was to invest in the creation and implementation of schools gathered, at the junction that consisted of three to four isolated schools, implanted in cities, towns and villages. The reform of education that normalizes the creation of schools gathered was in 1927, with the sanction of the new Regulation of Public Instruction Primary Mato Grosso. This dissertation intends to analyze the process of creation and expansion of schools gathered in Mato Grosso,in this period between 1927 and 1950 and their relevance in the educational scenario of the state. The research is situated in the field of historiography, with analysis of sources of documents, as presidents of the state reports, inspectors and education directors of public instruction, available in the main acquis and archives of Mato Grosso: the Public Archives of Mato Grosso (APMT), the Center for Historical Documentation and Information regional (NDIHR) and Archive Casa Barão de Melgaço (ACBM). New sources were produced through structured interviews with individuals who participated as a student and / or teacher, to school every day met in Mato Grosso. Based on analysis of source documents and oral, it is inferred that the schools gathered in Mato Grosso accounted for at the moment of its creation (1927), while the solution to budgetary problems and educational, having been thought of as the possibility, after instituted and consolidated to become school groups and thus boosting education in Mato Grosso.
