Resumo: | The present study had the purpose of evaluating quantitatively and qualitatively the biofiltration by using the Moringa oleifera for simulated effluent treatment containig the pesticides methomyl and imidacloprid. The treatment was started with the use of the moringa oleifera seeds and leaves for the flocculation of the analyzed pesticides. The dry leaves crushed, showed to be more efficient, with the reduction of 98% of the initial concentration for methomyl and 84% of the initial concentration for the imidacloprid, in the proportion of 1g of leaves for each 2500 µg of the pesticides mixture, in a 120 hours period. Then, the treatment was accomplished with the biofiltration system constituted by crushed stone (size 2) of dolamithic limestone and foam D30 activated by fermentation bacteria from the moringa oleifera leaves. The samples of the material which passed through the system were submitted to physical and chemical analysis (OD, turbidity, pH, electrical conductivity and redox potential) and by HighPerformance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), achieving a decrease in methomyl concentrations of 88% and in imidacloprid of 38%. This process efficiency, as prototype, will contribute to future researches aiming the reduction of environmental impacts caused by surface and groundwater contamination from pesticides use. |
