ABSTRACT This work is part of the research line “History, Policies, Education: History of Education. Policies (State and Government)” of the Graduate Program in Education at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul – PPGEDU-UFMS and aims to analyze the access and permanence of students with disabilities in distance education at UFMS. Access to higher education has been developed through specific policies for this level of education, the group of students with disabilities has specific needs for their permanence in their respective courses. Thus, this theme motivated the investigation to identify the main factors that interfere in the access and permanence of this group, especially in the distance learning modality. To investigate the theme presented, we developed a descriptive and exploratory research, as well as an investigation of bibliographic and documentary sources. The main sources used were statistical data from INEP and institutional documents. The theoretical framework, such as institutional documents and normative documents about people with disabilities and distance education, were based on the analysis of the material and social conditions in which students with disabilities develop their studies, establishing a relationship between what is provided in the documents analyzed, the statistical data and the reports of students with disabilities. At the end of this research, we highlight the reasons that lead people with disabilities to choose the distance education modality. However, the scarcity of data meant that the research did not develop as expected. Keywords: Person with Disabilities. Educational politics. University education. |
