Resumo: The border region is abundant in terms of contrasts and contradictions that involve, among several other elements, a population with significant socioeconomic vulnerability and distinct social, cultural, economic and political relationships. In this universe, the job of the Social Service Worker, on the Brazil/Bolivia border, between the cities of Corumbá and Puerto Quijarro, together with the population that seeks social assistance in the Corumbá City Hall, promotes specificities in the work dynamics of such professionals. The demand highlighted in this research consists of Bolivian immigrants who were assisted from 2015 to 2020 at the Social Assistance Reference Center – CRAS Itinerante – which is the spatial delimitation of this research and a public agency managed by the Municipal Secretariat of Social Assistance and Citizenship of Corumbá. In this context, the frontier becomes a fertile field for research due to the flow of immigrants who have many different needs for the Brazilian social assistance. This dissertation has as its general objective “Understanding the dynamics and specificities in the assistance to Bolivian immigrants at CRAS Itinerante in Corumbá/MS. As for the methodological path, it includes semi-structured interviews with quantitative data that was qualitatively analyzed in the light of Social Work and permeated by interdisciplinary knowledge that involves border studies, public policies, geography, among others. This research reveals weaknesses and flaws in assistance registration and assistance itself, which led to the proposition of the dissertation product – the “Reception Form”.
