Resumo: There is an increasing number of research in the field of science teaching the report the potentialities of active methodologies, in particular IpC and gamification, in the transformation of teaching and learning processes in the classroom, as well as developing skills such as study engagement, teamwork, collaborative learning, rapid and critical thinking, protagonism, cooperation, competition and learning from errors. In this direction, the present work was structured in the form of two scientific articles: Article 1: Teaching of science and active methodologies, gamification and instruction by colleagues: a review. The objective was to map the main characteristics of research that relates the active gamification and/or IpC methodologies and the science teaching. Based on the results, we found that there is a lack of studies reporting research results based on the implementation of activities involving active methodologies gamification and IpC, so that the potentialities and limitations of its insertion in the teaching of chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics and sciences can be understood. Article 2: Chemistry of medicinal plants: a didactic sequence gamified and allied with instruction by colleagues. The main objective was investigating the gamified learning of organic functions and properties of medicinal plants by students of the second year of public education. According to the results, we can affirm that there was evolution in the learning of the properties of medicinal plants, their active principles and organic functions. Moreover, the gamified methodology combined with the IpC allowed the development of skills and competencies such as student engagement, teamwork, cooperation to achieve the common objectives, competition and curiosity on the subject. In this sense, we believe that the articles contribute to the advancement of research in the area of chemistry teaching, exposes the limitations of each methodology used and allows other researchers and teachers to enjoy the results in this research. We also highlight the contributions to the transformation of students’ behavior in the face of the use of active methodologies, making the proactive, with a cooperative spirit and more interests in the classes.
