Resumo: The dairy activity in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul has great socioeconomic importance for the state, with many production units, mainly family farmers. In this work, the objective was to obtain the productive and economic indicators of 451 milk producers assisted by the technical and management assistance program ATeG Mais Leite of SENAR MS between 2015 and 2017. The average daily milk yield of assisted producers was 121,7 liters, with 62.31% of the producers in the productive stratum of 51 to 200 L daily, showing the reality of milk production in Mato Grosso do Sul, which is based on an expressive number of producers with low production scale and with a volume below 300 liters daily, which is a reference value for economic sustainability of the activity. The average production per lactating cow was 8.6 liters/cow/day, with an average production per lactation of 2,680 liters and average annual productivity per hectare of 2,540 liters/ha. The productive results were greater than the average values found in the national scenario. Regarding the economic analysis, all producers showed positive results, indicating economic sustainability in the activity. It was concluded from the results obtained that technical assistance assumed an important role in the dairy activity. Through it the producers have access to information about production alternatives, making better use of the available resources, contributing to the increase in productivity and ensuring that these families stay in the business.
