Resumo: | The research we are sharing here focuses on the production and circulation of images in the heart of the actions of the Movimento de Luta nos Bairros, Vilas e Favelas (MLB) in Belo Horizonte. Assuming that image production, in this context, is also a form of intervention in history and participates in the constitution of the Movement itself and its areas of action, we propose to cartograph together, with and through these images (their characteristics, contexts and processes of production), in order to build a counter-cartographic approach, through which it is possible to think not just another story, but another way of “making the city” – in the terms of Michel Agier (2015). We start by exploring the possibilities of the relationship between historicity, geographicality and images, in order, in a second moment, to activate structuring concepts from the cartographic perspective and deepen the ways in which the method can operate in our research context. Finally, we propose the realization of a Cartographic Laboratory where we feel the intertwined relationships between the images, the city's production and the historical development of the struggles, looking at space and at the forces that traverse and constitute it through time. |
