Efeitos da educação em saúde no desenvolvimento cognitivo e na aprendizagem de crianças infectadas e posteriormente tratadas para helmintoses

Resumo: For the present experimental study, developed in the locality of Americaninhas, city of Novo Oriente de Minas - MG, the method of health education with emphasis in the social relations and affectivity were used in the educative intervention come back toward the control of helminthes. The study it objectified to investigate the effect of the educational process in the cognitive development and the learning of infected and treated children for helminthes, residents in endemic area. 106 children of 6-11 years, both sexes, had formed the casuistry of the study that finished with 95 children (loss of 10,4%). To receive the educative intervention the participants from the study had been divided in two groups from the results of the coproparasitologics examinations: Group Infected (n=84) and Healthy Group (n=22). The children of the infected group had been separate in Action Group that participated of the educative intervention (n=43) and Control Group (n=41). To evaluate the cognitive development static psychological evaluations had been used and dynamic and to evaluate the learning knowledge tests had been used. The data had been analyzed by the comparison of the averages of the coefficients delta of the daily pay and after-test (Paired-Samples T Test) beyond the distribution of absolute and relative frequencies. The results had evidenced gradual increase in the values of the static cognitive evaluation carried through after-intervention in the children of the Action Group. Although the biggest proportional profit, did not have statistic significant differences between the values gotten in the after-tests of the groups Action and Control (p>0,05). Already between the Action Group and the Healthy Group, the values gotten in the tests Arithmetical and Digit had been statistic superior in the group without the infection (p=0,048 and p=0,023, respectively). Between Infected Group and Healthy Group the Arithmetical test was only statistically superior in the group not infected (p=0,048). Improvement in te dynamic evaluation of the creativity abilities was evidenced, processing speed and logical reasoning, however, the children had kept oscillations with regard to the memory ability. The children had also presented resulted compatible with improvement of learning in the evaluation of the conceptual acquisitions. Although by means of the static evaluation they have not been detected advances in general intelligence, and by means of the dynamic evaluation, the cognitive profits have occurred in some cognitive abilities specify, the evaluation of the conceptual acquisitions had demonstrated that it had learning, fact that namely sends the conditions that are produced in the interior of the school: method, practical pedagogical, teachers function and interaction teacher-pupil.
