Resumo: | What drives this dissertation is an attempt to understand some social struggles which are happening in contemporary Latin America. Within the historical perspective as our theoretical and methodological frame, side by side with a critical social theory, we have dealt with the multicultural demands putting on movement by some indigenous population and black people peasants. The multicultural demands, the necessity of renovation of the States structure which in these groups perspective has created a subjugated social situation, are aspects that the recognition theory are trying threat. We have focused on the Bolivian, Chilean and Uruguayan cases. The methodological idea which has led the cases election was based on the different cultural matrixes that could be finding in Latin America. While we are writing this dissertation, we have realized that a reasonable comprehension of the multicultural phenomenon in Latin America was asking for approach of the history of independent States formation and above all if we want to understand what is happening nowadays a modernity discussion must be made. There are struggles for a redefinition about what are Latin American societies. That struggle is making possible to think about what is the best frame for our States moral formation. Nevertheless the main modern institutions as the State and its moral importance and specific way to deal with the political organization are not being very strongly objected. |
