Resumo: | The texts whose authorship belong to Fernando Pessoa are not restricted to his poetic and fictional work. The purpose of this dissertation consists in the analysis of part of those scarcely explored texts – whose authorship belong to one personality, António Mora, one heteronym, Álvaro de Campos, and to Fernando Pessoa, the orthonym – and subsequent comparison with texts by other authors. The general content of these texts comprehends ideas on aesthetic philosophy and literary theory. Hence, the authors chosen for comparison were Aristotle, Benedetto Croce and Harold Bloom. The first chapter, therefore, regards the thoughts of Aristotle and António Mora, that possess remarkable similarities considering structures and functions of the arts. The second one focus in existing similarities and differences between the non-Aristotelian aesthetics of Álvaro de Campos and the expressionism of Benedetto Croce. The third chapter, finally, performs a comparison between the ideas of Fernando Pessoa and Harold Bloom, regarding specially the role of aesthetic criteria in the formation of the literary canon. The research, hence, will allow us to conclude that the thought of Mora and Campos are opposed and Pessoa’s consists, partially, in the combination of the ideas of the two others. |
