Resumo: | The present research proposes the analysis of the novel El infinito en la palma de la mano (2008), by the Nicaraguan author Gioconda Belli, based on the notions of transgression and intertextuality. Considering the concept of transgression developed by M. Keith Booker (1991), it is verified how intertextuality is used in this work to achieve the transgressive effect and how the use of this artifice is inserted within the context of Latin American aesthetic production. With regard to intertextuality as a transgressive resource, this novel re-elaborates the anthropogonic and anthropological myth, foundational for Jewish and Christian mythologies, based on biblical Genesis, but also on extracanonical Jewish texts. As for the transgression, this investigation focuses mainly on the implications of the mythical- symbolic representation of the woman, the protagonist Eva, since the narrative is centered on this character, fictionally recovering the perspective of the one who remains on the margins of the traditional discourse. Thus, the aim is to verify how and to what extent ruptures (transgressions) or reaffirmations of stereotypes of the feminine consecrated by the patriarchal culture (pseudotransgressions) are manifested in the novel. |
