Resumo: | The non-linear behavior of the moment-rotation relationship of beam-column connections in cold-formed profiles is not yet defined in a satisfactory way, since the semi-rigid behavior of these connections is still in an incipient stage of knowledgment. Existent analytical models in the literature have been used together with experimental data to model the behavior and the resistance of welded and bolted connections using extended end plate. However, this approach showed to be not appropriate to obtain a specific equation that could represent the semi-rigid connections in cold-formed steel structures. Therefore, the non-linearity behavior due to the presence of semi-rigid connections are taking into account by making some adjustments of the formulations presented by FRYE and MORRIS (1975), KISHI and CHEN (1987a, b), RICHARD-ABBOTT (1975) and by the Tensioned B-Spline technique. As a result of this work, it could be verified that the investigated connections follow the adopted analytical models, once some adjustments are provided. |
