Resumo: | The global discourse on environmental issues points to education as a central tool for the development of an ecological conscience that promotes the confrontation of environmental issues and the preservation of the environment. However, it is clear that the level of environmental awareness is directly related to the perception that subjects have of the environment. Considering the problem of the current ecological crisis and the need to broaden the student's environmental perception, this work demonstrates that the use of geotechnology, in teaching, provides a broader and integrated view of the environmental, social, cultural and economic aspects, the which can contribute to improving the student's environmental perception. Thus, for this study, a didactic sequence was created that associates the use of geotechnology to Science Teaching by Investigation as a didactic approach that promotes student protagonism. The didactic sequence was applied in a public school in Conselheiro Lafaiete in Minas Gerais for high school students, who used satellite images, available for free on the Google Earth software platform, for data collection, analysis and discussion of issues related to the environment. At the end of the application, the students created a geotechnological database of environmental data - IDEAL Escolar - in the municipality of Conselheiro Lafaiete. |
