The study object of this research was the Centro Cultural Português do Instituto Camões (CCP-IC) (Portuguese Cultural Center of the Camões Institute) that had as a main goal to understand its contribution towards the Mozambican citizenship. It was based upon a theorical referential which discuss the questions of information, its importance in society, as well as the citizenship concept in the context of the Mozambican society, under a historical perspective. The purpose of the research was to identify the contributions provided by the institution about the understanding of the citizenship concept and its applicability in the Mozambican society. Opinions were collected from the users- through a questionnaire-unique, as well as the visions of various interviewed subjects, representatives of the Mozambican civilian society, obeying a methodology of the combination of qualitative and quantitative procedures in order to obtain their sensibilities about the performance of the Camões Institute in Mozambique, regarding the construction process of the Mozambican citizenship. The research reveals that the question of the Mozambican citizenship is still in a construction process and thats the reason why activities proposals were put forward for the performance of the Camões Institute, with an intention of having the Mozambican citizen absorbing this concept.
