Resumo: | The development of an individual to achieve expert performance is based on deliberate practice with specialized teachers. The future experts need to acquire control and monitoring mechanisms to assess their performance in order to gradually change their methods and broaden their skills. Based on the research method created by Ericsson and Simon (1984), Ericsson and Oliver (1988), this study sought to discover, from the application of Protocol Analysis in diving coaches, considered experts, which are the nuances of the excellent training embodiment, to create a relevant model. Were interviewed six men coaches, with mean age of 49.5 ± 20.5 years, and length of work experience of 28 ± 17 years. The interviews lasted between 2 to 4 hours on average, counting a total of 16,25 hours recorded interviews. Were formed in all, 758 meaning units (MUs), from them, 98 were selected to represent the lines of the coaches data analysis work, which passed through the analysis of 3 experts in qualitative and expert performance. From the narratives of coaches, highlighted five categories: general technical criteria of diving, training context, characteristics of the coach, psychological characteristics of athletes and sports management in Brazil. Of these five categories were also established 15 subcategories. Based on the coaches narratives, it was possible to build a training expert diving model, represented in form of a cognitive map. It was observed that the experience of the coaches, the lack of qualified professionals is the greatest hindrance to the development of this kind of sport in the country. |
