Resumo: The aim of the present work is to analyze the relationship between the higher education, the support services to students and employability for a sample of graduateds from four courses of the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG), namely: Biological Sciences, Social Sciences, Law and Geography. The goal is to determine whether, and in what form, the assistance received during the graduation is reflected in the employability of the benefit. Initially, this work presents a revision of the sociological researches about the access inequality to the education talking into consideration the social class. The results of those researches evidenced the maintenance of the school inequalities among the social classes, in spite of the elevation of the entrance opportunities in the school. Well succeeded in a double selection, ie, social and school, these undergraduates have special needs that must be met in order to enable, in better conditions, his stay in higher education until the completion of studies. While it is not implemented a public policy of support services to students, public institutions of higher education draw up their own programs, which, however, does not always give account of the demand. The UFMG, in turn, through the Foundation Mendes Pimentel (FUMP), offers student assistance to students from low income. For these students, support is essential to ensure his stay at the university until the completion of graduation and obtaining the diploma. According to research on the relationship between schooling and access to the labour market, professionals with high levels of education receive on average incomes higher than perceived by workers with little or no education. In the case of the sample in this study, the remuneration of graduates who received support is affected by the same factors that influence the composition of the income of the others graduates.
