The serum testosterone levels influences carcass characteristics, behavior and sexual development of males. The Flehmen reflex is a behavior facilitator in conducting sex pheromones to the vomeronasal organ. This organ has connections to the central nervous system affecting the secretion of testosterone and sexual behavior in males, but depends of the species and age. The prevalence of olfactory stimuli mainly Flehmen reflect manifested by Bos taurus indicus males on tests of sexual behavior, suggests that this organ is important in these animals. Thus, the study of the vomeronasal organ and the influences of its blockade are of relevance, since it can results in physiological changes and modulating productive performance of zebu male.
