O rádio como agente de letramento literário de crianças: um estudo sobre o programa radiofônico Encontro Com Tia Leninha, da Rádio Nacional da Amazônia (1979-1999)

Resumo: This work aims to understand how the radio program Encontro Com Tia Leninha, of Rádio Nacional da Amazônia, worked as a literary literacy agent for children, especially in the Amazon region, between 1979 and 1999. To do so, we analyzed records of the program and radio soap operas, children and young-adult books, interviews, letters, and comments written by listeners in social networks. These sources were analyzed using theoretical-methodological references on dealing with each specific type of document (written, audio, digital), thanks to the movement of Cultural History that amplified and diversified the notion of document and historic source. The content analysis allowed to categorize and interpret the data collected so as to understand the object of research proposed. The theoretical framework consisted of works on literacy and literary literacy, children and young-adult literature, mediatized orality and radio language, and the histories of childhood, book, and reading. The results show that the program opened a significant space for children and young-adult literature, be it through story records, through radio soap operas written by the producer and announcer Helena Ardito Bortone or adapted from books; or even through the reading of other books. In this process of literature adaptation to the radio, we can see that Helena Ardito Bortones concept of literature was, predominantly, one focused on the teaching and formation of an idealized child and childhood. However, even if the children and young-adult literature had a pedagogical and/or moral character, we believe that the extra features of radio language amplified the aesthetic dimension of literature attracting people from different ages and locations many of them with no access to literary reading. Thus, the research unveiled an important role played by the radio on the construction of the history of reading in Brazil
