Resumo: The study of personality in Psychology goes through several authors who produced researches by using techniques and methods to reveal the psychological world structure. Attempting to know the individual in their own characteristic seems to have been one of the main aspects of Education and Psychology between the 19th and 20th centuries, especially for the Russian psychologist and psychiatrist Lazurski, who dedicated himself to studies of the personality by means of observation, experimentation and classification models. In Brazil, one can find Lazurski‘s influence in the work of Helena Antipoff, a Russian psychologist and educator who arrived in Brazil in 1929 to work in the state of Minas Gerais during the country‘s educational reform period based upon the New School. By using her experience in Russia, both in the imperial time and the beginning period of the Soviet Union, Antipoff dedicated herself to researches on the psychological evaluation and introduced Lazurski‘s work as a reference for the personality investigation in the educational context of Minas Gerais. At the same time, one can also find Lazurski in some publications in the state of Rio de Janeiro with the translation of one of his works, among other materials that mention him as guidance for the personality classification. Thus, this present thesis was elaborated through a documental research whose purpose was to do an investigation about the appropriation of Lazurski‘s work in Psychology and Education in the early of the 20th century in Minas Gerais, by Antipoff‘s work and the documents found in Rio de Janeiro. This study offers the chance to discuss, according to the Psychology of the time, the relevance of the experimental models in Psychology, mainly concerning a certain kind of understanding of the scientific paradigm for the studies of the personality. It is in this context that Psychology History takes back conceptions that may help in the constitution of the individual and their world.
