Resumo: | When dealing with flood risks and having a clear perception of the obvious impossibility of total control of floods by means of hydraulic structures, many hydrologists have been making efforts in the development of methods and techniques to predict the dynamism that guides the water channels behavior. The knowledge of the flow evolution in natural water channels can be seen in a larger perspective when pondering that the hydrological response is also a function of the fluvial system characteristic. The proposal of the present study is to evaluatedifferent methods of flood routing modeling through the water channel, emphasizing some aspects related to the fluvial geomorphology. The primordial hypothesis of this study is that the descriptive parameters of the morphology and the drainage system of a basin can, at least,in part, explain the evolution of some flow parameters. Forty gauging station with discharge measurement from the subbasins 40 and 41, located in Minas Gerais State, were selected. The drainage system and areas were automatically determined by means of a digital elevationmodel. The application of these techniques made possible the attainment of some parameters that describes the morphology of these unities. The natural transversal sections were approximated by anti-symmetrical trapezes, respecting the hydraulic parameters variation as a function of the water level. The modeled hydrographs were approximated to the form defined by the theory of the geomorphological unit hydrograph (GUH) by applying a Gamma function, in a formulation where their parameters were estimated by the functions of the GUHtheory. The empirical parameters associated to the storage models were calibrated by using the genetic algorithm. Trough the application of the main flow routing models, this study tried to find out the influence of the fluvial geomorphology over the modeled phenomenon. Some discussions about the aspects of the used techniques, the adjustment of the flow routing models as a function of the physical characteristics and the perspective of indirect parameters calibration and the establishment of mathematical relations that could be used in situations of data missing. For sure, it was not identified the existence of macro relationships between flow routing methods and physical characteristics, even these relations have been founded out and confirmed, as predicted by the literature, which allow a preliminary analysis of the adjustmentof a specific technique. A large discussion about this theme is performed and various perspectives are visualized from the study results. |
