Resumo: This work solves the short-term hydrothermal planning problem for predominantly hydraulic generation systems. From a multi-objective formulation, the simultaneous search method can be calculated on the volume of water stored in the reservoirs and the minimum for the use of complementary sources (thermoelectric). To achieve this, a heuristic proposed having dened the demand to be known, assigns an order of priorities to use the water resource of each plant in the cascade system, and a determination of each source by each plant and each generator, taking the system to its maximum generation eciency. This corresponds to taking the system to the greatest and least cost with the complementarysource, takingcareofalltheoperationscharacteristicoftheproblem. The generation function takes into account the reservoir level, tailrace height and hydraulic forces. Inows and demands were treated as deterministic due to the short planning horizon under study. The development of the heuristic applied to the hydrothermal planning problem presented signicant results compared to currently addressed methods that transcend short-term planning, which can also be considered for the real-time planning problem
