Resumo: Currently it has used wood in objects that require raw material with excellent qualities, objects in which it was not used commercially, such as bicycle frames, sunglasses and watches. When properly used, the wood has excellent mechanical properties and can be an alternative to the use of materials with less environmental appeal, such as metallic and composite; for this wood should receive appropriate treatment, which is well known its structural behavior and joinery techniques. This study evaluates the use and structural performance of wood in bicycle frames,component that provides high dynamic mechanical stresses. A bicycle frame prototype of reforestation eucalyptus wood was made and studied their structural performance from experimental testing proposed by ABNT, along with the strain gage technique. Wood showed excellent performance when used in the bicycle frame, with axial stresses on their components and lower the ultimate stress of the material
