Resumo: | This study aimed to investigate and describe the social representation of aggression among girls of school age girls, identifying belongings that contribute to intergroup dynamics. The work was carried out with six girls aged 12 to 13 years and six girls aged 14 and 15 years of a public school, and with six girls aged 12 to 13 years and six girls aged 14 to 15 years in a private school. Through this division of respondents into different groups, we point out the data that appears more significantly in each age group and every type of school. The first step in the process of data collection was to hold focus groups in the private school and in public schools. From what was reported in the group, was made the recruitment of four girls to carry out the interviews. Data from four focus groups and four individual interviews, conducted in private school and in public schools, were subjected to content analysis procedure. With the aid of software Nvivo7 started the process of construction of categories to organize data according to themes or "core sense" common. The results indicate that the content of the interviewees' discourse was organized around the following themes: aggression and differences, causes of aggression, types of aggression, the consequences of aggression, types of intervention, personal characteristics and relationship between friends. The discussion of our results point to the fact that aggression among girls will be experienced as a function of social context in which the child is inserted. In this sense there are similarities and differences in how girls private school and public school will notice the phenomenon. The same holds true regarding the issue age, when referring to the group of girls aged 12 and 13 and the group of girls of 14 and 15 years in each school type. Concerning the causes of aggression, the girls realize that underscore the gossip as a prominent cause of aggression between them. The themes of gossip concerning the dispute by the affective-sexual issues.No respect to types of interventions that occur in the face of aggression is important to reflect on the ineffectiveness. According to our results, our respondents demonstrate disbelief in terms of seeking assistance when they suffer abuse. |
