In the present work found be presented the some of the main theories of residential location and some empirical evidences of the same utilizing the facts regarding the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte of the Origin Destiny Research (OD) carried out by the João Pinheiro Foundation in 2001. In what plays the empirical evidences, understood itself that the adequatest methodological procedure is the multilevel approach, due the understanding of that the facts present some structure arranged hierarchily and nested. Like this, modeled itself the worn out time in the displacement to the work as function of a series of regional, home, and individual characteristics. The results corroborated some of the theories about the family structure in the process of residential choice and of the difference of gender in the displacement to the work. However, the known one gradient of rent of the theories of residential choices were not observed. The argument for this fact itself must to dynamic real estate, of the region of analysis, in the two last decades.
