In a time of intense production of adaptations of literary works into comics language, even with governmental support, this work intends to analyse two adaptations of Dante's Divine Comedy, trying to understand how the transposition process works by reading passages of the poem and examining their visual depictions. Such analysis follows directions given by the adapters themselves, italian Piero Bagnariol and north-american Seymour Chwast, in interviews and published texts about their works; it is likewise based on studies on adaptation, comics, literature and visual arts.
