This thesis consists in a critical and artistic inquiring on the reception of the medieval marvelous by the comics. The critical chapters main objetive is to discuss how the medieval romance Mélusine ou La noble histoire des Lusignan, by Jean dArras, as well as certain texts from the medieval Arthurian Cycle, have been recreated by Camelot 3,000 and Les Compagnons du Crépuscule, two graphic novels which rely strongly on elements of the aforementioned texts, while discussing, at the same time, how the filtering of the medieval texts by modern ones reveals certain ideological choices. This discussion is followed by an artistic chapter, which consists in a comic book adaptation of Friedrich Fouqués medievalist novel Undine.
