Resumo: | This work searches for the relations that can be made between theoretical studies about Latin- American identity in the contemporaneity and the documentary cinema produced in the countries of the Andes region during the first decade of the XXI century. Through the analysis of stylistic characteristics of the documentary Nostalgia de la luz (Chile, France, Germany, 2010) by Patrício Guzmán, based on the historical analysis of style as proposed by Bordwell (200), we try to identify how the staging of the Andean man intermingles with the studies about Latin-American identity undertaken by cultural Studies authors, such as Martin-Barbero and Canclini. Still supported by Bordwells ideas our analysis focuses in the systematically observation of characteristics of the films mise-en-scène: 1) play of the actors; 2) scenarios e 3) framing, our analytical operators Thus, going from the media product, documentary cinema, to its relations with culture, we propose a way to understand audiovisual as a culture expression, as scenario, object and agent of the social practices in the contemporaneity. To sum up, we tried to observe the staging of the Andean man and the traces of his identity put on screen in documentaries made in specific contexts and production logics. |
