Resumo: | The proposal of this study was understand the history construction of the rivalry in the games between Atlético Mineiro Club and the Sociedade Sportiva Palestra Itália, in the Belo Horizonte city, from 1921 to 1942. We seek to understand how this rivalry began and how the foundation of these this soccer team changed the space and the dynamic of the city. Because it treats of the historical study, we found, especially, in studies about Modernity by Nicholas Sevcenko and work that somehow had the soccer and Belo Horizonte city as research topic. These studies were also by Euclid Couto, Georgino Souza Neto, Leticia Julião, Rodrigo Moura, Raphael Rajão, Marilita Rodrigues and Kellen Vilhena. We adopt the newspapers as a source of research, we work with periodic desire temporality and previous years in order to subsidize the construction of the text. At the end, Two hundred and thirty one news reports were used. These documents were found in the Archive of the Official Press of Minas Gerais, in Linhares Collection Federal University of Minas Gerais and the Historical Newspaper Public Library Luiz de Bessa. We realize that the exponential growth of the spectators in their games, the expectations of the pre-game brought by the newspapers and especially the report of the games, subsidized the understanding that to qualify as a classic soccer game in Belo Horizonte. We understand that Soccer matches were a space found to people agglomerate and to socialize. As time passed, the simple assistance of the grand stand evolved to the belonging of the club, and these fans had in shirts of Atlético and Palestra a one of the representatives of local rivalry. |
