Resumo: | This study analyses three elements found in the novel “O Recado do Morro”, by Guimarães Rosa, which is part of the work Corpo de Baile. These elements are myth, madness and laughter. We suggest that they must be seen in the novel as a guideline of the author’s poetics. This suggestion of a poetics is acute and emphasized by the author’s use of the term parabasis as a possible classification of the three novels among the seven that integrate the whole work. One of the novels classified as parabasis is "O Recado do Morro". The parabasis is a kind of "author’s voice" in Old Comedy, in Greece, in 5th century BC. Myth, madness and laughter are seen here as problematization factors of a standard, a destabilization of established concepts. We study this authorial voice relating it to the three elements mentioned above which can be found in the novel. |
