Resumo: This research work aims to develop a method for objectively evaluating steering parameters, correlating them with subjective assessments, through the usage of a vehicle dynamics simulator. The subjective evaluation of the steering parameters was only assessed during the physical phases of validation when adjustments are expensive and require timing that is not always available. The demand for robust virtual analyzes grows with each project developed, due to its lower cost and execution time, which added to the assertiveness of virtual models nowadays. With the support of a vehicle dynamics simulator, subjective assessments can be predicted and guide the development of objective analyses, making the process more dynamic and focused on problems perceived before they exist in physical vehicles. By making a robust study, a process of development of a multibody model was created, going through correlation using experimental data, K&C, handling, and steering analysis, for then converting the model to the simulator and subjectively validating it. Through a sensitivity analysis of the steering parameters, steering ratio, Ackermann, and bump steer, it was chosen which models would be exported and subjectively assessed in the simulator, then correlating objective with subjective results, creating, and validating a methodology where it is possible to estimate the impact of modifications on the subjective assessment of the vehicle.
