Resumo: Can the relations and applications of Information Science (IS) and Intelligence and their information management mechanisms contribute to the actions to combat illicit trafficking in cultural goods carried out by Iphan and Ibram? This question was the motto for the development of research that was guided by the verification of data and information available on the websites of the federal authorities responsible for safeguarding the Brazilian cultural heritage. The information made available regarding the cultural goods protected by each autarchy was analyzed, as well as regarding the missing collections. To develop the study, a qualitative approach was used, having as axis of analysis the typology of cultural goods and the legislation that support the actions of protection of cultural heritage and those related to the protection of information and sensitive knowledge. Based on Information Science and Intelligence, the scientific discussion on the problem has gained possibilities to be significantly expanded. With the development of the study, IS and Intelligence showed theoretical and methodological paths capable of contributing to the information management at Iphan and Ibram. At Iphan, it was found that the problems are concentrated in the stage of data and information collection, both in terms of providing information on protected cultural goods and on missing goods. At Ibram, the same problem is more pronounced with regard to missing cultural goods. With regard to safeguarding information and sensitive knowledge, there is a need for action in both autarchies in the Intelligence activity, which proved to be useful for these federal agencies. The implementation of an Inteligence area in these autarchies is fundamental. Due to the changes in national legislation on the subject, it is pertinent that Iphan and Ibram come to plead for admission to Sisbin
