Resumo: The topic addressed in this dissertation is women's fear of rape. This issue is a serious public health problem in Brazil and worldwide. The aim of the study was to synthesize, in a comprehensive and orderly manner, the results of research dealing with the theme of fear, violence and women in the face of rape. To complete this study, the following steps were established: (1) to understand and reflect on the fear of rape experienced by women, (2) to present coping strategies to strengthen women's resilience in the face of violence, (3) to propose reflective workshops on domestic violence, violence against women and fear of rape to promote awareness and identification of risk situations. The methodology used involved a literature review, using descriptors such as “fear”, “sexual abuse”, “rape” and “woman”. The methodology was enriched by learning the content of the author Elza Machado de Melo and interpersonal relationships with the women of the Para Elas project, culminating in the development of workshops, which were planned based on Maria Lúcia M. Afonso's analysis of group dynamics and focused on themes such as rape, sexual harassment, child sexual abuse, coping with fear and domestic violence. The results indicated that workshops for groups of women who have suffered domestic and/or sexual violence can be considered a form of public policy. These workshops aim to promote support, awareness and training, helping victims to overcome trauma, acquire new skills and rebuild their lives.
