Resumo: | This research has as main objective to understand the trajectory of five students from secondary schools of the popular media who studied at the Colégio Estadual de Minas Gerais, in the 60s and also examine the mechanisms used by individuals and their families to achieve the success. At that time, the rates of schooling for this level of education were quite low, especially in classes. We performed semi-structured interviews with former students, the oral form the main source of work. Conducting the interviews had as main objective to identify the factors that contributed to the path of academic success of students in classes and investment in your family educational background. Field studies of the effect on Sociology of Education- school, end-teacher-school and the family provided theoretical support to this research. We noticed that there were influences of family, school, teachers and people or groups outside the family environment that allowed the construction of a trajectory of success of these subjects. In family proceedings, stood out as important factors in this process is the role occupied by the father, the permanent moral and emotional support of family values and importance given to the school. Within schools highlight the role played by the climate of Colégio Estadual, the building of positive self-esteem, to enhance cultural and social capital, development of rules of practice and values education profitable. For teachers identify the role they played in the development of autonomy and responsibility and the development of taste for reading. The presence of people or groups outside the family environment was found to be important in the choice of educational establishment, the financial support or as a reference model for these students. |
