Resumo: It consists on a qualitative study based on the comprehensive sociology. It aimed at trying to understand the construction of the comprehensiveness in the borough of Catas Altas for the health professionals and establish the connections between thecomprehensiveness, the accessibility, the extension and the coordination of the caring. This borough uses the resources of primary attention exclusively and this method gives it peculiar features. The health care professionals who took part in both assistance and administrative areas in the borough consisted of three nurses, three administrative workers three nursering helpers, two communal workers, one pharmacist, one doctor, one biochemist and one dentist. The database was collectedby semi-structured interview, free observation and documental analyses. The speech analysis helped to understand the results of the interviews. Firstly, they were written out and transformed into texts through the language tools considering the context observed during the accomplishment of the interviews. Afterwards, the texts weretransformed into corpuses which constituted the final result to cross the data and to assemble the category of the analyzes. The triangulation of data became possible to connect the results of the interviews, the documentary observation and analysis, showing up the approach and the distance between the talk, practice and writing. The data were discussed in five categories of analyses: 1) concept and practice of comprehensiveness; 2) the current challenges to the team work; 3) the organization of the demand under an wide look; 4) the accessibility opening the doors for the comprehensiveness; 5) the extension and coordination of caring. It was showed the comprehensiveness in a polissemic way through the several significance done by theprofessionals that sometimes could not define it even though the practicedemonstrated successive approximation with the ideal of the integral assistance .The work done in health area was presented as a facilitator of comprehensiveness but it also evoked challenges to be overcome as the interaction of the professionals of the family health strategy with those of enlarged clinic used by the borough and the determination of the whole administrative actions. The borough has come to terms great demand of health services to attempt to assure the accessibility between primary attention and other levels of health system. However, it is obvious theimportance of working in a longitudinal way, with a centered-user posture for the guarantee of the customary and continuous access. The care coordination hasn´t been used as the team guide in the construction of the comprehensiveness because it depends on the continuous connected coordinated network.
