In this present research was sought to raise the terms related to the Design Science contained in the investigated works that can compose the theoretical field of the thematic one. Based on the investigations, the objective was to organize the theoretical field of Design Science mapping the terms that represent and / or relate to the theoretical field, through the construction and visualization of bibliometric maps. A qualitative study is developed through a descriptive research that starts from a general premise about Design Science and looks for other terms that relate to the concept. The data used to construct the research are composed of a sample of international articles selected by relevance, based on the theoretical framework - Herbert Simon's Artificial Sciences - and by 14 Brazilian theses, from all areas of knowledge, that deal with the theme , available on the CAPES portal, on the date of the consultation. According to the analysis of the bibliometric maps constructed based on the literature review and the data collected from the theses, the terms were constructed and the relations between them were constructed in the Design Science approach. The purpose of demonstrating the existing relationships was to collaborate with the organization of the theoretical field, as well as to assist in consultative studies and future research on Design Science As a result, a bibliometric map was developed integrating the terms and pointing out their relations with those already coined in the field of Design Science in view of the possible extension of the theoretical field. Specifically, the research results offered: a) a description of the behavior of the concept of Design Science based on theses and articles consulted, in view of their representativeness in several areas of knowledge; b) an analysis of the concept of Design Science in transdisciplinary perspective; c) a possible extension of the concept of Design Science from the relations detected in the analyzed works.
