Resumo: | This study aimed at reporting the development stages and the reproducibility of an evaluation instrument about the oral health care provided for 0 to 5-year-old children from the perspective of primary health care dental surgeons from Belo Horizonte. The development of the instrument was based on the primary health care dimensions, as well as on the analysis of primary and secondary care protocols used by SUS/Belo Horizonte care network, which standardize oral health actions, and on the results from focus groups with dental surgeons. It the face validation stage, experts in the fields of community dental health, pediatric dentistry, and statistics have collaborated with suggestions which were incorporated into the instrument, applied to 77 dentists, consisting of 16 items about the professionals and 55 about their professional practices. To measure the reproducibility level, used the test-retest procedure acceptable considering weighted kappa > 0.60. Results showed reproducibility levels of 0.5-0.59 for 7.3%; 0.6-0.69 for 32.7%; 0.7- 0.79 for 50.9% and above 0.80 for 9.1% of the tested questions. The final instrument showed satisfactory comprehension and reproducibility levels. |
