Resumo: The theme Education of Youths and Adults (Educação de Jovens e Adultos EJA) added to the Professional Education presents a significant relevance in the area of investigation and comprehension of the relation between Education and Work. Based on that and tocontribution in this sense, the research is named The Experience of PROEJA in Contagem: Intersection of EJA and Professional Education that has a guiding question that is, which are the determined factors of success and/ or failure in the implementation of an integrated proposal for EJA intersectioned to professional education. With this investigative proposal, our main point against the question is analyse the impasses, development and the contribution regarding the articulation of EJA (high school) with the professional education and the experience of the pilot project in municipal of Contagem, during year 2005 until 2007. Thus, we also seek to analyze and understand how the strategies, principles, concepts and actions put forward by the municipal government have impacted in school education processes aimed at general education and professional students in this modality. The methodology was based on the principles of qualitative approach, becoming a case study, with communication with the quantitative research assumptions that involved the graduating students, teachers, the project partners and policy makers as subjects of the research. As for the methodological tools we used in the empirical study, the semi-structured interviews, document analysis and questionnaire. This last technique was a choice made to realise and understand the meanings of the experiences of these graduates in this educational project and also identify the insertion of the student in the market. In the technologic field used for guide and research, we highlightKuenzer (1999), Manfredi (2002), Haddad e Di Pierro (2000), Arroyo (2006, 2007), between others. The analysis revealed that we were facing the attempt by a municipality to implement, in an innovative way, professional qualifications, linked to the modality of Youths and Adultsin high school level. Thus, we point out that one result of this investigation is the contribution of experience in the field of Adult and Professional Education, considering the limits and possibilities of an educational policy that provides the comprehensive development of individuals involved. In the same way, we also noted the needs to the structure, in the both ways, therefore, reflect on the changing concepts and principles of general and professional training in public policy. However, the effectiveness of this model depends not only on the existence of a government program that has principles outlined and defined. This research signalize that is important to guarantee an effective participation of all the subjects (workers, educational, public managers, researcher etc.) in the process of think and do political educationalist for all the subjects of Education. Therefore, it is important that the governmentcommitted to dialogue between the institution and the social movements, taking on its political agenda the agreements between the social interlocutors.
