Resumo: This work begins with a close examination of spaces that, in some way, challenge dichotomous logics, whether between public and private, between male and female, or between formal and informal. What interests me in these spaces, which I call gaps or boundaries, are their stories. Through the stories of those who produce and live in the- se spaces, I try to understand if they can help us challenge other binary logics, such as those of man and woman, homosexual and heterosexual, production and reproduction – in other words, other binary logics that pertain to bodies, orientations, lives, and relationships. Can the space-time dimension be strategic as a technology that helps undo gender? I believe it can, and it's the stories that assist me in formulating this hypothesis, stories of deviants, of those who clearly do not conform to these dichotomies that dictate what is right and wrong, beautiful or ugly, respectful or not. With attention and care in listening in the places I have been and lived, I heard different stories about coming out of closets, uncomfortable bathrooms, and welcoming kitchens. Subverting the idea that home spaces are radically different from street spaces, I realized the city invading the home and the home reformulating itself through city spaces. Thus, I met and saw people creating their gaps, their boundaries, which are powerful in the production of other ways of life that do not conform to the heteronormative and capitalist norm. Here, I present some of these stories and spaces.
