Resumo: In this study, the importance of using the sketchbook as a plastic expression, recording daily life and the process of creating and searching for artistic knowledge is highlighted. The objective is to highlight the formative and autobiographical path taken from the artistic records of the researcher and her students, in the act of narrating and remembering. To give visibility to the path taken, contributions from art education and autobiographical research were used, such as Freire (1989), Freire (1996), Ostetto (2008), Mestriner (2014), Silveira (2001), Delory-Momberger (2008), Salles (2011), among others. An investigation is presented about the author's own sketchbooks, the recollection of the encounter with her students' sketchbooks and records and possibilities of using them that dialogue directly with the processes of experimentation and creation of the experience lived as a teacher and artist. In this way, a pedagogical proposal for the making of notebooks is born in dialogue with the course of experience in the classroom in High School, from a public school of Basic Education with a manual of binding technique, elaborated and made in communion with the students.
