Resumo: | The efficiency of COPAN (Microplate and Single) microbiological tests that are used to detect antimicrobial residues in milk was evaluated. This evaluation was conducted in laboratory from September to December 2004, with 13 different antimicrobials in 4 concentrations each, inoculated in free milk residues, besides control samples. COPAN tests showed 100% of sensibility to detect penicillin G, ampicillin, cloxacillin, amoxicillin, sulfadizine and sulfamethoxazole; and 96,66% detecting oxacillin for tested concentrations. COPAN tests are capable to detect concentrations established in legislation (MRL), for the evaluated antimicrobials, except to erythromycin, oxytetraciline, tetracycline and trimethoprim. COPAN tests can also detect concentrations around detection limits informed by the tests manufacturing for all tested antimicrobials. Using the Microplate test, we analyzed 136 samples of raw milk from producers that have historical data of low total bacterial count in milk. The selected producers were from metropolitan area of Belo Horizonte (MG). The presence of antimicrobial residues has occurred in 24,26% of analysed samples. Keywords: milk, antimicrobials, residues. |
