Resumo: The aim of this research was to analyze the language as a symptom at the very birth of the psychoanalysis. The discoursive heterogeneity in Anna O.'s case was demonstrated in the " corpus, which includes Breuer's observation, Freud's and Lacan's psychoanalysis and Bertha Pappenheim's writings (Anna O. herself). The texts were analysed by the discourse analysis methodology and some psychoanalyticconcepts especially from the new framework of discourse analysis, Patrick Charaudeau's sémiolinguistique, where the language act is conceived as a staging and the discourse is the text and its context, we concluded that at the birth of Psychoanalysis, a foreign language was a part of the scene. This fact inaugurated, with the "talking-cure", a new concept of healing. The presence of Anna O. is referred in Freud's works and Lacan's studies. This dissertation carried out a survey into language, life and Bertha Pappenheims discoursive heterogeneity, by interplay of language, linguistics, discourse analysis, and psychoanalysis.
