Resumo: | The technologies developed for musical applications in the 20th centuryinfluenced directly the expansion of musical genres. Overall in rock, theres a high dependence degree between an artists sonority and the technology used in it. This generates a problem to the maintenance of the same acoustical mark in the various situations of practical music: in rehearsals, in studio and in live performances. As an approach of this issue, the digital technologies (and, mainly, the computer) is a greattool, with its characteristics such as: portability; an easier data storage, maintenance and upgrading; more possibilities in the use of signal processing resources; more possibilities of interaction, and others. The band called SOMBA a pop/rock band considered to cover and research some of the possibilities that the current digital technologies can supply, in a way so it can define itself musically through (amongothers factors) a sonorous mark. This occurs with the elaboration of a patch detailed through this work in Max/MSP, with the dilution of borders between functions in the musical process and with the development of a phonographic and performer work using the designed patch. |
