Resumo: | This dissertation proposes a reflection on the concepts of reading and interpretation proposed by Wolfgang Iser in his theory. We intend to consider how the complexity of these concepts produces, on one hand, metaphors that attempt to translate them into explanations and, on the other hand, an articulation that involves definitions about literature, meaning and culture. We also aim to investigate the way Isers theoretical construction process reveals the authors reading of outstanding works of modern literature. Therefore, we seek to analyze Isers acting as a reader through the concepts that he proposes or, in other terms, to emphasize the dual status assumed by the theoretician, who presents himself as a reader at the same time as he inscribes his readings into his theoretical work. |
