Resumo: The use of non-destructive testing (NDT) inspection and ultrasound evaluation of physical and mechanical properties of concrete has been in recent years, the subject of advanced studies both in academia and in science. This technique, known more and more, gaining new fans and greater reliability along the production chain of Construction, focused only on inspection "in situ" of reinforced concrete. Thus, the idea of using it in the inspection, evaluation, and reception of concrete hollow blocks, commonly used in building walls, with or without structural function. In this sense, the work aims to evaluate and estimate the compressive strength of concrete hollow blocks, or not seated in masonry, from inspection by ultrasound, and to propose a new methodology to be adopted in quality control of manufacturing blocks. The results signaled an adjusted correlation between the ultrasound pulse expressed inµs (micro seconds) and compressive strength of individual concrete hollow blocks, allowing non-destructively evaluate them and classify them under any normalization current control quality, commonly used in the factories of concrete blocks, and with the possibility of replacing traditional processes adopted for quality control.
