Resumo: After the 2008 global crisis, triggered from the housing market crisis and U.S. financial in 2010, Brazil has resumed the path of economic growth and to recover from the impacts suffered by construction, the Federal Government launched stimulus measures as the reduction of the IPI (Excise Tax) for some construction materials and launching programs subsidies as My Home My Life. This last measure, in addition to social, also came to warm sector activities, thus maintaining growth. In view ofsustainability, this tax scenario is worrisome because construction consumes large quantities of raw materials and energy as well as being one of the largest generators of waste, accounting for a significant portion of the environmental impacts worldwide. The choice of a more sustainable construction system is critical to the environment, especially when dealing with large works such as tall buildings or housing complexes with a large number of apartments, as waste generation is directly proportional to the size of the work . The structural masonry, when fulfilled all stages of design and implementation recommendations for the rationalization, is an interesting building system for the types of works that one can opt for this system. The objective of this work is to harness the residue from the manufacture of concrete blocks, at the time of pressing, for the making of micro concrete filling of the alveoli of the blocks during the erection of structural masonry, as specified by the project structural calculation. This work involved the residue and characterization of the aggregates commonly used in the manufacture of micro concrete. We evaluated the mechanical properties and workability of the concrete micro by testing for consistency and resistance tocompression. We evaluated the compressive strength and absorption of concrete blocks filled with micro concrete. The study of substitution of sand by the residue for the manufacture of micro concrete results showed that this substitution made possible without losing the properties required for the micro concrete.
