Resumo: | This dissertation shows the narrative and stylistic influence of the illumination in the movies as a language that grows parallel to its history, by means of analysis and counterpoints of the masters of the world cinematography. We show how the illumination techniques interact with other elements related to the esthetics of the film: the camera work, the limitations imposed by the introduction of the sound, the film stock, and the animation techniques. We describe the employment of the virtual light in the graphic computation and the illumination in studios or real locations, and the historical context of the photography of the movies of the German Expressionism and of the Noir. In addition, we use these researches in the third part of the Chaos Trilogy, making the animation and the photograph of some 2D and 3D scenes of the third episode of the movie. |
