Resumo: Based on an multidisciplinary approach, the present research aimed at the identification of the information and knowledge management processes in Brazilian corporations. Such process was subdivided in the sub-processes of obtaining, registering, sharing, valuating, monitoring strategic application, as well as the use of information technology tools. A field research was realized in 16 organizations, in which 101 interviews were conducted. Multiple cases by non-probabilistic judgment methodology was applied. The study has shown that the process exists, although not explicitly, in most of the researched organizations, including the perception of the sub-processes. It was also possible to detect the existence of an understanding of the value and needs related to information and knowledge on an strategic level, including the use of technological tools.
