Resumo: The organizational knowledge management concept is described andanalyzed as a process of creation, organization and knowledge transfer tousers. This research is developed through the study of the case of a largebrazilian energy company, called Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais - CEMIG. The textual, human and electronic sources of information, related to the process of knowledge creation, were identified. The systems, repositories and the knowledge flow were identified in the knowledge organization; and also the way to transfer business knowledge. It's a qualitative study, having a exploring nature, developed through interviews and documents analysis, emphasizing the soft aspects, like human communication and interactions flows, as well as the enterprise organization network regarding external environment. The key factor of sucess considering the knowledge management is the strategical alignment of the process of intentions, objectives and results aimed by companies. This work looking into comprehension of the unconscious knowledge and the corporate identidy analysis, the enterprise way of life, and analyzes the contradictions and paradoxes of the process of knowledge management. This work also presents the challenges of this process, because involves distinct perceptions, desires, values, intentions and interests, as part of a complexnegotiation involving desires, knowledge and power. This research concludes that organizational knowledge surpass the corporative imaginary borders and flows from the water, springs to the oceans, through the constellations of organizations in visible and virtual continents, for multiple purposes. Supporting on competitive advantage, the knowledge management is related to core competence and seems to be a determinant factor of the survival and adaptation capacity and enterprise innovation, in a competitive environment. This study considers that the wisdom when managing of enterprise knowledge requires theoretical understanding of its complexity, models and not only rational interpretations projects and conscience of the contribution to the evolution of the organizations and the humanity.
