Resumo: The main objective of this dissertation was to analyze the conflicts engendered from the presence of the mining company Zona da Mata Mineração in the São Pedro community, located in Teixeiras-MG, having been developed between 2021 and 2023. The analysis of conflicts led us to investigate the different forms of appropriation of the space, community and business, which organize and produce the territory and the tensions that constitutes between these. To this end, we examine the corporate strategies employed in the company's territorialization process, from the production of discourses and narratives around the enterprise and the environment to territorial control strategies, such as the control of community roads, the construction of a corporate surveillance system and the control of natural goods existing in the community. This is a qualitative research, carried out from field visits and participation in meetings of the community's mining resistance core. Furthermore, a series of documents were analyzed, such as the studies presented in the environmental licensing process and against reports produced by organizations, which challenged the results presented in the company's EIA/RIMA. Semi-structured interviews were also conducted with residents of the São Pedro community, as well as representatives of organizations present in the confrontation of the project. The theoretical scope of this dissertation is mainly based on the literature on mining and environmental conflicts.
