Autocorreção e auto-avaliação na produção de textos escolares: relato de uma experiência

Resumo: This work consists of two stages that intersect and complement each other. The first stage describes an experience related to text-production that was carried out with a group of Philosophy students at "Faculdades Unidas Católicas de Mato Grosso", in Campo Grande-MS, during the 2nd semester of 1987. This experience was based on the principles of self-correction and self-assessment as opposed to the traditional system of correction and evaluation adopted by our schools. The results demonstrate that such principles stimulate the students critical reasoning and decision-making capacity, but, most of all, confidence in himself and in his knowledge of the language. The second stage proceeds to the evaluation of the experience, analyzing not only the activities performed, but also the theoretical concepts that guided these activities. In this way, it takes up again and discusses, besides the principles of selfcorrection and self-assessment, the concepts of text, text structure. cohesion, coherence and argumentation as well as the notions of text type, subject and linguistic activity. While the present evaluation may indicate the need to revise some of the concepts and notions used at that time, it emphasizes that when the student is given the opportunity to reflect upon his own work he is likely to develop his written expression as a result.
